It's nice for one of our first posts on this blog to be on such a positive note as we introduce one of our most recently published books, War Studies Reader: From the Seventeenth Century to the Present Day and Beyond, edited by Gary Sheffield. Gary will, I'm sure, be a familiar name to those of you with an interest in military history, as he currently holds the Chair of War Studies at the University of Birmingham.
In this reader, he introduces a selection of essays from experts that cover a wide spectrum of topics - including strategy, coalition warfare and ethics to name a few - in order to cover all of the areas students may come across in their studies.
